Hi

I'm pretty new to all this PVR stuff, but after a few weeks I have managed to get GBPVR (0.98.8b) running pretty well with a Freecom DVB-T stick and I am pretty chuffed with it - thanks very much!

I am having a few problems with BBC1 (I am in the UK) when viewing using the MVP. After 10 seconds or so the audio goes out of sync. I have managed to experiment with the video/audio decoders in the playback tab of the config app and can get BBC1 to work without issue when viewing on the PC.

I have read that BBC broadcasts at a higher bit-rate than the other channels.

Does anyone have any advice please?

Many Thanks

In config, on the MVP tab, try increasing the Live TV pre-play delay a 100ms or so at a time and see if that helps.

Hi Cyb

Thanks for that - unfortunately it didn't seem to have any effect.

I tried recording a couple of minutes of a program on bbc1 and played it back on the PC - it was OK. I then tried playing it back via the mvp and it quickly became out of sync.

I will fiddle a bit more and post if I find a solution.

Cheers

Odd that it's on the highest bitrate channel, if you're using the latest version of GB-PVR the standard dongle.bin for the MVP should be OK, what mux are you using ? You could try an alternate one.

@Doddy

was it easy to set up (Freecom DVB-T) ?

I am using at present a Haupauge Nove-T 2 USB and I am thinking of getting a 2nd DVB-T Tuner as a 2nd source so I can record 2 Programs or watch one and record the other.

Has anyone experience with this ..?

Hi pt-1

As it was all new to me it was very much trial and error along with reading thorugh this forum - if you have already set up gbpvr with a different tuner I can't imagine that you would have any problems setting up a freecom - but then what do i know!!!

Hi Cyb,

Thanks for the reply - I am using the Cyberlink mux (don't have the version number to hand - I extracted it a few weeks ago from the twinhan drivers as mentioned elsewhere on this forum).

I watched a bit of BBC1 on the PC and on closer inspection noticed that it seemed to be 'dropping frames' more than other channels - although audio remained in sync. I am beginning to think that the issue may not be entirely down to the MVP.

I haven't really had chance to mess about with GBPVR over the last few days but I am going to try the Microsoft patch (KB896626) to see if it makes any difference and try a different mux.

Cheers
