I have tried finding what's causing these problems on this forum. Yes I have tried searching as well.

I am really puzzled why live tv works flawlessly on the pch and I can pause and resume playback as well with no problems.

But every recording breaks up when I stream it to the popcorn. It appears to break up on the laptop as well but it is only a dell d600 with 1.4Gz mobile processor and 512Mb ram so not sure if playback on the laptop is because of the low power of the processor.

Is recording streamed differently than live tv or when viewed live through the tv guide? Is the format of the file any different or could I have changed something that would make recordings a different format?

I live in Australia so I am using a dvico fusion usb dvb-t tuner, running xp service pack 3 and directx 9c. It did the same when I was using service pack 2 as well. I read in this forum about the quartz thing but supposedly this was fixed in service pack 3.

I haven't changed any settings in gbpvr except for the ones in the guide, setup the tuner and channels, and also changed to ts mux as this appears like the only one that works for me on the pch. I have left the conversion part as "no conversion".

This is puzzling to me too, because the process is very much the same unless of course you have dual tuner card. Sub will have to comment but I will speculate that the main difference is the way you watch recordings is different and it is the navigation keys causing problems.

Do the recordings play properly if you process them with the TS fix programs I mention here http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=9

I cant think of any reason it would be different. Live TV on the PCH is just a normal recording, that the app then starts playing using the normal file playback stuff. There is no special different logic run for live tv.

Could it have anything to do with writing to the latops hdd? I assume gbpvr writes to disc when you pause live tv though. Just a noobs idea LOL.

It also does it when watching videos through the videos folder. I will try streaming a divx file I know that works.

Are you running 1.2.13? In 1.2.9 there was some problems with the PCH that were fixed with subsequent patches.

Well I changed the mux to the ATI mpeg mux and it seems to have reduced the breaking up in the recordings.

Are these recordings a lower bit rate? It seems that the network speed when watching recording doesn't go as high as when using the ts mux.

I found the cyberlink 1307 mux broke up in recording quite badly. I may try some more muxes to see what works best.

I will do some more testing and report back. The live tv worked properly before so the status of that hasn't changed. Still puzzled why live tv works better than the recording but it looks like I'm not the only one.

Will the logs show why the recordings are breaking up? Is it worth me sending a log when using the ts mux to make it break up.

Thanks

I don't recall anyone else with this specific problem, the logs can't hurt (but I don't pay for bandwidth or storage).
