This isn't specifically a GBpvr problem, I'm not sure what it is, maybe someone here better versed than i will know.

I have a whole host of channel modulators. Some broadcast security cameras, some the VCR and DVD outputs and still others do MVP outputs. That being said all the channels are clear and crisp on any TV, be it standard CRT, Plasma or LCD.

I've been trying to get my wife's computer up and running doing double duty as a TV in her office. On that system the all channels are just great, what you'd expect. The channels that are modulated on the other hand are terrible, dark, fuzzy, almost to the point that you have no idea what you're looking at.

Thinking it maybe was something on her system i brought those channels up on the main GBpvr system, after adding the channels to the EPG. Thinking they would look good there as well. I was wrong. They were the same dark, fuzzy picture that was on her system. I brought in a standard CRT set and put it right next to the computer, using the same video jack, was able to look at the systems side by side. Beautiful picture on the TV, on the computer through the TV card, same fuzzy picture.

There must be something that the computer TV cards don't like about modulated channels that a stand alone TV has no problem with. For the life of me i can't figure out what i could be though.

Has anyone out there also experienced this, and were you able to fix it?

I find my 350 requires a much stonger signal than the tv (direct to tv I don't need to boost the signal, for the 350 I need a booster)

It could be low signal, i'll check it but would tend to doubt low signal. The modulators have a gain on them and I use a 20db adjustable amplifier at the panel. It should have plenty of signal. I'm thinking maybe too much and i'm overdriving the TV cards.

I have been playing with the fine tuning a bit, but also so far it doesn't seem to make much difference to the picture quality no matter where i've set it. at this point i'm also thinking either too low or too high might be the problem. I'm leaning toward to high right now. I'm going to bring a signal meter home from work on monday that should tell me which way the problem is, provided that's the problem.
