Hi,

I've had some trouble getting web streaming working. Using it from both the localhost and another computer on the intranet does nothing; VLC opens and sits there and doesn't appear to do anything.

Any ideas?

Lots of stuff......

What are your system specs (Memory, Processor, etc.)?
What are the streaming settings you are using on the config page?
Are you accessing it on the same machine that is hosting GBVR or are you accessing it from another PC on your network?
Have you opened both the EWA and Streaming ports on Windows Firewall or whatever firewall you are using....on both the host and client machines?
When you start the stream what shows up in your web log? There is a link to the web log on the statistics page. There should be an entry that looks somehting like the below:

Ok....it is the file type. dvr-ms is a proprietary file format that VLC can not yet decode. If you record your shows in mpg format instead then streaming will workd.

Ah. Well, GB-PVR records in dvr-ms, so all my current recordings are like that. On another note, I had told it to convert recordings to mpeg2 lately and I left it on all day (with auto conversion time on) but it didn't do anything. I did some recordings today with this changed so I'll check if they are in mpeg2. *checks*. Well... GB-PVR froze on the second recording. And the first crashes if I try to use the remote while its playing. Interesting. The first also didn't get converted to mpeg2. I'll post a new topic in the other forums, thanks.

There was someone else that had a post that was trying to stream and couldn't because of the format....they replied back that that "fixed" it and now it was working....you may want to check with them and see what they did.
