Hi,

i'm using gbvr with myhtpc. I'm only using the Live TV, Recordings and TV Guide.
So i don't need the Video Library or Music Library. This is done by myhtpc.
So the seamless integration isn't that seamless at the moment. Fortunately it's possible to modify skin, so i've changed the Video / Music Buttons to transparent buttons without content, so they went away.
But thats not seamless at all.......
It would be nice if i can start directly into one module or if i can disable some buttons from showing.

regards

If I implement command line options like -tvguide -recordings -livetv which take you directly to the appropriate screens what would you want to happen when the user tries to exit that function? Would it exit GB-PVR?

Hi,

I hope not, at least when running GB-PVR on a MediaMVP. It is a bit annoying having to restart GB-PVR when you accidentally push the down-button once too many and select Exit instead of Video Library.

polsen, that doesn't really relate to mamema's question. This would only be the behavior if started with the -tvguide -recordings -livetv parameters.

Just so you know, the next release has an option to hide the "exit" button.

Hi,

It might, since you would probably not want to exit GB-PVR when running it on a MediaMVP, but might want to do it when running on the computer monitor. Maybe yet another command-line parameter?

Glad to hear about the option to hide the exit button! [Image: smile.gif]

These parameters wouldn't affect running copies of GB-PVR (like MVP server). It would just be a mechanism to start a new copy of GB-PVR that goes to a specific screen, and exits when you finish with that screen.

Okay. Thinking some more about it, the proposed mechanism wouldn't be so useful on a MediaMVP, so you shouldn't have to consider that.

okay i'm trying to be more specific here.

I'm using gbvr in myhtpc and start gbvr from a menu out of myhtpc.
Now at the moment, if i start gbvr and touch the button more than once, i have several gbvr instances.
This is not "wife-approved" because of gbvr needs a longer time to initialize. You may think to touch the start button again. Happend yesterday. Ended with 8 instances of gbvr and a CPU of 100%
So a switch "start only if no other instance is running" would be nice.
And to answer your question: Because of my Central application is myhtpc and not gbvr, i would like to prefer to exit gbvr after i watched live tv or schedule recordings.
The "hide exit button" function is also great, if i still can exit gbvr with ALT-F4, which is my prefered exit function programmed on a button of my IR

regards
