My Trailers equivalent plugin?

Hi all,

I have been a user of GBPVR for the last 18 months and love it.
Recently I was shown a plugin for Media Portal called My Trailers which impressed me greatly, it displayed movie trailers from the web (I think it was using Yahoo Movies) and allowed you to stream them direct through the interface, is there something similar available for GBPVR, there was also a music videos plugin which did a similar thing.

There once was this apple trailers thingy (I think it's still on the wiki) but I don't think it works any more. Maybe you could get the author to make it work again Or you might be able to write a min-plugin for the ubustream plugin. This sort of thing is exactly what that is for. No one has written such a mini plugin yet, though.

Yes, I was aware of the getMovies Perl script, though i never quite liked the idea of, downloading those trailers, when you should be able to stream from the web.
I had a look at the UbuStream plugin, it does seem suitable, I guess the min-plugin would just need to manage the list of trailers and provide a link to ubustream, how easy is it to utilize one plugin from another?
I am a J2EE developer by trade, did some C/C++ way back in the day , bit rusty though, I might just have to start playing with .NET soon

I really don't know. I'm at the same "position" as you, and I'd like to look at creating such a thing for a few swedish websites... just waiting for someone (ubu ) to release some sample code for a mini plugin. He promised he would

My Xbox has XBMC which connects to apple quicktime movies trailers and play any trailer instantly (not to mention youtube apparently). How come there is nothing like this for the PC? Surely the same scripts could be used on the PC??
