Hi,
After some upgrade for GBPVR (before 0.98.13) I don't see my old shows when I click "Recording". All the new ones that were records after the upgrade are there, however.
Is there a way for GBPVR to recognize and list the old recordings?

I might have installed GBPVR in a different directory, but my recordings are still on the same directory.

Thanks,
Indy

If its occurred in the last 24 hours, then you can probably use the 'import recordings' button in the config app to reimport the recordings-dump.xml in the gbpvr directory.

If its older than this, then there is nothing built-in that will do this, but there are some third-party utilities on the wiki that provide this - sorry, the names dont spring to mind, but there is at least two of them.

I'm seeing something similar where a dvr-ms recording does not show up in the recordings directory if I have moved it from its original location and then put it back.

It won't even show up in the videos directory from Xrecord where all of my recordings show up.

The .mpg files work correctly so its just the dvr.ms files for me.

This is normal. If when GB-PVR loads the recording list it finds a recording referring to file that no longer exists on disk, it assumes you've delete the recording manually, then it proceeds to delete the recording from the database.

There is no difference between .dvr-ms or .mpg (or .avi) files in this respect.

If this behaviour bugs you, it can be disabled by setting <AutoRemoveMissingRecordings> to false in config.xml. Personally I find it very useful.

My <AutoRemoveMissingRecordings> was already set to false. This explains why when I delete shows from windows explorer, they were still listed in recordings. I didn't change this knowingly so I'm assuming its an option in config that I overlooked. I too find it useful to autoremove these.

I still think there is a problem in Xrecord where dvr-ms files are not showing up in the "video" location though. I'll have to do more testing.

Thanks Sub

Update (11-27-06):
- I just found an old post about this Xrecord issue with dvr-ms files and Jorm's fix does work.

The default has always been true, and no associated setting in the config app, so you must have changed it at some point.

Sorry, I dont know anything about XRecord or how it works, so I cant really help you with that one.

This is one of them. Simple, easy to use, works great. I found I had to use a Dump.xml file name that was different to the Config's recording-dump.xml or it crashed on th import, but apart from that, nice util.

Thanks! I've downloaded MpegImport.zip and it did the trick.
