Hello,

I tried to find the answer by searching, but no luck.

Can I stream only the audio track from a recording (in progress or completed)
I want this as I record the football when I am at work, and want to listen to the commentary.

Also, when I stream video, it plays fine - but then stops after 40 secs to a minute. I can keep reconnecting through WMP to the stream, but it keeps stopping again (the position in the stream increases at the same time)
I was wondering if this was a function of the work firewall.

Thanks

Who's your internet johnnycam? Any of the telecom plans may not have the upload speed.

Does it do it at all encoding speeds?

Yeah, I am on a t/com line - only 128k up - but why would it be able to stream some of it?

I am streaming on port 8000, as (again) the work firewall gets in the way.
I use the 128k option for encoding. I guess I'll try it someone elses place to see if it's just the upstream speed of telecom.

I've just got to wait for a month or so and then I can get rid of t/com line and get Telstra with 2MB up.

For people on Telstra, you get a cable modem?
How does this work with existing router / modem etc (ie - can I plug it into my combined modem/router/wireless and kee the same network setup?)

Yeah on telstr you get a cable modem, I think they can be plugged in usb or network, get them to do network. If you get a good tech he may help you set up your router - it should be easier cos there's no ppoe.

If you got a "normal" router, and not an adsl modem/router then yeah it should work. I have a dlink 624+ and a linksys wrt54g.

You could try 96 and a limit, or see about playing with the encoding to make a really small file to see if it works, oh and really extend the buffer but still you'll probably catch up and then it should stop.

you should be able to use VLC on the server to stream just the Audio.

If you run VLC stand alone....not through EWA.....EWA you will stream audio and video if you select to stream a show.

128k up is really slow to be streaming video. You could try changing the display mode for streaming to Scale rather than Preset.....and set the value to like .25 or .10 which is 25% or 10% of the original video size.

OK, I will try and reduce the size of the video until I finish my contract with current telecom dsl line, then off to cable.

Thanks for your help.
