I'm not sure what the blasters look like (if there are different versions of them), but one looks like the thingy at the bottom of this picture: http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/images/pvr-15..._board.jpg

In order to control you set top box you need to have one of those blasters. Either you need a pvr-150 with one included, or you need to get an USB-UIRT. Or build one yourself if you are handy. The donwside to the last option is that it might be tricky to find software to run it. The first two options (pvr-150 blaster and USB-UIRT) both have softwares that run with gbpvr out of the box.

So, first we need to determine if you have one of them blaster thingies.

I have an IR blaster, that looks like a little eye with a grey rubber covering. I already peeled the covering off so it can transmit the signal better. I know it works because I got it to work with WIN TV. Well I know it works to control WIN TV and not my STB! It is the 1045 remote. I am really confused on what settings to put in the GBPVR setup.

You need to get it controlling your set top box using the Hauppauge BlastCFG utility first, then configure your capture source to use the '.exe channel changer' which you configure to use 'c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\haupblast.exe'.

After that, then I should click on the button that configures the remote automatically under the DVD/Remote tab? Then resart the IR blaster program?

I think thats it. I will recheck my settings tonight.

Thanks.

No, that setting is about the remote (IR Receiver), not the IR Blaster. The remote is used for controlling GB-PVR.

The IR Blaster is a separate thing with a different purpose - it is used for controlling an external set top box, and it is used by setting your capture source to use the '.exe channel changer' which you configure to use 'c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\haupblast.exe'.

There are no settings that you need to configure in GB-PVR for the blaster, since it just asks BlastCFG to do the IR blasting, and BlastCFG will use the settings you configured early.
