Black Screen

Hi,

I am new to the tv on the pc thing. i have an HP media center that is running vista rc1 on it. i have a conexant blackbird tuner card. i ran GB-PVR, downloaded the guide, ran the tuning assistant and all that. during the tuning assistant, it found all my channels. when i try to watch live tv though, it only shows a black screen. i had windvr on there and i could watch the channels so i know the tuner card is working.

any ideas......would really like to get this working.

try recording something and watching that. Then if that is the same, try watching the video in something other than GBPVR.

If the "something other" works, then it's probably Video decoder settings.

I have the same problem, picks up all the channels but does not view them. GBPVR kind of sketches out when i try to watch live tv, I had one channel up once, but it doesnt like me trying to change channels. The MPEG decoders i have to choose from were, NERO and CYBERLINK POWERDVD, neither appear to fix the problem, any ideas?

I'm not really sure. There isnt an obvious cause shown in the logs.

If you run the tuning assistant, do you see any channels?

Yep, I see all my channels with the Tuning Assistant, though there is no sound.

Darn, this is really disappointing. I guess my only option is to return to Cyberlink. :mad:

Does anyone else have any ideas?

I would have expected that if you got video in the tuning assistant, then you should also get it in the main app, but I'm not really familiar with this device so there may be issues with GB-PVR using it.
