Using an external media player for recorded TV?

I'm looking to launch Zoomplayer Pro for playback of recorded television programs saved in a MPEG television stream format from the GB-PVR interface. I've search and they thing I've found mentioned is external players for the DVD playback but no mention of television show playback from the recorded shows interface.
