My wish is for GB-PVR to automatically switch to a different Hard drive that is pre selected to use when the main HD is getting too full. So if I go on vacation and my Hard drive starts to fill up it can automatically change to a different HD and keep going. Could this be done? Big Grin

I do intend to do something like this in the future, but it probably wont be in the next release or two - too many other things on the go.

Thanks for that. I travel a lot and I have to login through VNC and copy the shows over to my other HD to my main HD doesn't fill up.

When is the next version coming?

It would be better to use space on multiple drives at the same time. The simple logic would be that when a recording starts it should be saved to the drive with the most space free.

I prefer the scheme of filling primary drive first, up to a configurable threshold, before moving on to a secondary storage.

The above sounds great. I have a couple additions to the suggestion.

First, have the option for Video Library to treat multiple directories or disks as one large logical volume.

Second, as a twist on the suggestion, I would love the option of being able to have simultaneous recordings go to different disks. Fragmentation is terrible when multiple tuners are recording at once, and most defrag tools don't deal with defragging large files well even when there's quite a bit of disk space free. HD makes this worse since the files are so much larger. I'd love to configure gbpvr so that the first recording goes to 1 drive and the next recording to the next disk since this way neither file may need to be defragmented. Also, if all recordings were done in this round robin fashion, it'd spread the recordings across multiple disks and each could fill up together, progressively.

Just a thought.
