Need help getting 150 remote working

I had almost identical problems with my 150's remote at one point. I can't say for sure what was wrong and what fixed it, but I used the Hauppauge clean utility to un-install everything and re-installed again following their instructions (several times) and eventually it started working.

Not much help, I know. You might try installing the card in another machine just to see if you can get it working there. If it did, at least them you'd know the hardware wasn't defective.

The card doesn't have the usb version of the receiver/transmitter. Mine connects to the back of the pvr150 itself via a miniplug (1/16th I think).

Yeah sorry I wasn't clear. He needed a remote so he bought the entire MCE remote and receiver for about $20 on ebay. Instead of keeping the Hauppauge that you have, it might be cheaper to replace the whole thing with a different setup.

This may be a no-brainer but my PVR-150 blaster only works with my STB if the blaster is taped directly over the sensor on the STB. The blaster seems to be extremely weak.

That's because the blaster is primarily a visible LED. There was a thread about replacing it with an IR LED. A friend at work did exactly this and the range went way up.

Well I guess it's good to know that I'm not alone in fighting this. I did run the hwclear a few days ago and reinstalled the all the software. I guess I could run it again and see if I get different results. Truly aggravating.

I doubt I'll pull the card and put it in another machine. I just don't have time to troubleshoot hardware. I can do the software via vnc from work, but I can't pull cards remotely
