I currently have a Windows 2003 Server running Swisscenter to serve vob files to a couple of media players. I am thinking about purchasing an HDHomeRun and installing GB-PVR, which should allow me to record to the server and watch through the media players (I know that I won't be able to schedule the recordings through swisscenter). The server is an Athlon XP 3200+ with 512MB of RAM (1.2TB RAID for storage). I have a workstation that is a Celeron 2.4GHz with 1GB of memory. I was thinking that recording through the server may slow down responsiveness of Swisscenter. Would it make more sense to install GB-PVR on the server or the workstation?

It uses very little CPU recording, so I dont think you'll notice any slow down.

In that case, I will probably install on the server. Once GB-PVR is installed and configured, does it run as a service? Can I schedule recordings through other PCs on the network? Also, could I run a "client" version of GB-PVR on other PCs on the network?

I thought I found the answers to these questions before, but I can't seem to find them anymore.
