I just installed this card and I can't get it to record two shows at the same time in GBPVR v0.99.12.

I have two seperate entries under "Capture Sources" with "Emuzed Angel II #1" configured as "Capture Device #1" and "Emuzed Angel II #2" configured as "Capture Device #2" with EPG set up for each one. Both use the "Direct Recording Plugin".

When I check the recording status while two simultaneous recordings are scheduled, "Emuzed Angel II #1" shows one of the programs I scheduled and ""Emuzed Angel II #2" shows "Sleeping"

I was able to do a simultaneous recording of two seperate channels using GraphEdit.

I have included my log files.

Make sure you have them set to device #1 and device #2.

You could also try setting <AutoDetectEncoderMethod> to either 0 or 1 in config.xml.

This made no difference.

Giving up already?

Well, just in case you decide against letting this problem kick your butt so easilyWink , I'll tell you about more symptoms of this problem that I've notice since my last post. I don't know enough about your program to know if the information will be helpful, but it can't hurt.

1. Folders are created for the programs but not the .mpg files.
2. When I deleted the second capture source and went to the TV Listings window, the listings were as patchy as my 15yo son's beard. Both of the capture sources mentioned earlier were using Zap2it for the EPG.
3. I deleted the second capture source because I started having problems getting it to record even one program at a time. The recording just wouldn't start.
4. Once I updated the EPG after deleting the second capture source, everything works hunky-dory.

I said before that I don't know that much about your program, but I've got a gut feeling the problem is related to the EPG system when more than one capture source is involved.

BTW, I've already uninstalled, completely deleted the program directory, and reinstalled.

Found the solution. I disabled "Complete EPG reload..." and it works fine now.

Well, that was short lived.

When I was finally able to record two shows at once, I chose two channels that were close together.

When I tried to record a lone program that was further down on the channel list a couple of hours later, the program didn't record.

I completely uninstalled v0.99.12 and installed v0.98.8, which is the oldest version I have that supports this capture card. At the risk of sounding the "all clear" prematurely again, it seems that this version will work. I was able to record on channel 10 and channel 70 with no problems.

I also tried v0.99.5. I had the same problems that I had with v0.99.12. I noticed that v0.99.12 and v0.99.5 downloaded significantly less data during EPG updates than v0.98.8 does. Whatever you did to accomplish this may be the cause of the trouble.

I'll let you know within a couple of days whether or not I have anymore problems.

Well, sometimes it'll record two programs at the same time and sometimes it won't. Sometimes it won't record one program at a time. The program will be in the pending recordings list, but when it comes time to record it just disappears. It doesn't even show up as a failed recording.

I tried using my Theater 550 and only one of the tuners on the Emuzed card just to see what would happen and I get the same results I get when using both tuners on the Emuzed card.

I've yet to find a rhyme or reason for when it works and when it doesn't.

Hopefully, you've gotten over the mood you were in when you gave one recommendation then said "I don't know".Rolleyes

EDIT: I just had a situation where:

1. One program was recording on the Emuzed,
2. then another program started recording on the Theater 550 five minutes later,
3. then another program was scheduled to start recording on the Emuzed while the second program was still recording. It failed. I restarted the recording service and tried to manually start the recording that failed - it didn't work.

I used Graphedit to test recording on the Emuzed tuner that wouldn't record in GB-PVR. It worked, so there wasn't any sort of conflict to keep the card from recording.

I just treat all devices the same, and dual tuner devices like PVR500 etc work fine, so unfortunately I'm going to have to put this down as some weird difference with the Emuzed Angel II.

If I had one of these devices I'd be able to look into it further for you, but unfortunately I dont. Sorry.
