HVR1600 - No sound? And a VMR question

Be aware there have been some changes in the 90 series drivers that are supposed to allow other applications to access the PureVideo hardware without installing the PureVideo software. Here is some of what I found.

I had that card and had mixed results using my current codec from ATI. I was getting around 90% cpu during playback with VMR9. I downloaded a trial of the purevideo, which moves the decoding functions into the video card hardware, and processor usage dropped to 15% using VMR9 as the renderer. Well worth getting the purevideo. The only thing I see is occasionally during large screen refreshes, like when the video is panning very quickly, I'll see some tearing on the screen. Annoying, but finally I'm making progress.

Apparently the 7x series doesn't come with purevideo. I wasn't aware of that. It's pretty cheap to buy it from them though.
