Hi,

I have a Nova-T 500 and am having problems tuning it in to all the Muxes in the UK. The first tuner works great, in fact better than my single tuner Nova-T's. But the second tuner cannot seem to find the 5th and 6th muxes. Has anyone else had a problem like this?

If i can sort this out then i will definitely get another one, especially since they're only £46.94 at savastore.com at the moment, and with the google checkout deal even cheaper.

Thanks.

If you remove any antenna splitters and plug directly into the Nova-T 500, does it help?

I seem to recall reading on the Hauppauge UK forum of one or two people who had noticed differences in sensitivity of the two tuners. Mine has a slight difference and I guess at the limit, one could fail to receive before the other. There was a dos/cmd based tool that scanned all frequencies and recorded strength/quality. It used the bda drivers. I might give a clue. ScanChannelsBDA_UK.exe was the filename.

I actually have an 8-way loftbox amplifier and the other 7 outputs all work fine, so i don't think it's that, beside the first tuner works great, picks up a very good picture, in fact better than the other single DVB-T tuners i have in the PC.

I might give it a go if all else fails though.

Thanks.

Ok. I'm not really sure what to suggest other than that.

I've found the dos utility that martint23 mentioned, so i might give that a run when nothing is recording Big Grin

I'll post the results here.

I have run the dos signal strength checker util i found and am getting some very odd results.

2 of my 4 tuners work great, 100% quality on all 6 muxes. The other 2 behave very strangely. The 2nd Nova-T PCI i have gives up scanning after the first 2 muxes, yet if i tell it to scan a specific frequency that i know a mux is on, it will lock on to it and get a perfect signal.

The 2nd tuner in the Nova-T 500, gets craps signal quality on all 6 muxes, and gives up scanning after the first one. I am considering returning it as faulty, since it's sold as a dual tuner card and is effectively a single tuner, it's not really fit for purpose.

Has anyone else had any experience of this problem?
