Hi all,

I have a problem with GBPVR, any softcam tested and newcs.
The problem is that my service provider, Comhem, sends out two different ECMs. One is Conax and the other one is Viaccess and all software defaults to Viacces. Newcs only sets up a Conax card.
This is not a problem in Media Portal or ProgDVB where I can set the ECM manually in the channel config.

Does anybody know of a way around this, I would really like to take GBPVR for a spin?

Please excuse any confusion created by n00b missuse of terminology.

Best regards,
Anders

Sorry, no its not possible to manually specificy the ECM. It always tries to dynamically detect it from the stream, but must be getting something wrong in this case.

I could probably make this change in future, but I'm a bit busy getting the next release ready at this stage.

Please do, when you have time of course, as I really would like to test this software "for real", it looks very promising.

I finally got it working with Yankse... I reinstalled the whole thing, OS and everything and now suddenly it works :-)
Must have been some configuration error...

Hello all!

I waking up this thread because I have the same problem. Only I am not using Yanksee but WinCSC as plugin and it is not getting the right ECM.

Is there some way to make a specific ECM to be passed to the plugins? The dvb-c provider we have here in sweden (comhem) sends 2 different ECMs on every channel for compability reasons (they migrated from viaaccess to conax). The default one seems to be viaacces that is no longer in use. I have tested a lot of DVB players lately and most players have an option under channel properties to force which ECM but I cannot find this in GB-PVR and I really like GB-PVR the best so it would be nice if it worked Smile.

It seems odd that Yanksee works though. I haven't read up on the multidec plugin API. Is the ECM sent to the plugin by the player or does the plugins register for certain ECMs? Maybe Yanksee registers for the right ECM and WinCSC doesn't?

BTW What do you mean by "dynamically detect it from the stream"? Is there some algorithm to this or is GB-PVR just picking the first ECM it finds?

Sorry, no there isnt. The ECM isnt stored anywhere by GB-PVR, so there is no opportunity to edit this value.

GB-PVR sends through all the ECMs in the stream. I'm guessing Yanksee is able to find the appropriate one, but WinCSC is expecting there to be only one, and just tries to use the first one.

To anyone else having this problem with comhem in Sweden, use NCSClient instead of WinCSC. It can select the right CaID automatically! Use these settings for comhem in NCSClient.ini:

EnableProviderCheck=0

CaID=0B00

These settings work for me!

Hello, I'm new to this forum and to GB-PVR. Till now it looks like a very promissing piece of software. Very stable too!

I've read this thread and I've got the same problem here with my Canal Digitaal subscription. When I tune in on RTL4 (dutch station) my card gets ProvID 0622 while it should be 006A. I used to watch using ProgDVB which lets you select the used ProvID in the channel properties. I copied the plugin folder of ProgDVB directly to the MPplugin folder of GB-PVR but it just doesn't work.

Any ideas on how I could get this to work? I really love to replace ProgDVB with GB-PVR as I'm tired of having seperate programs for different functions within my HTPC.

I'm sorry, but I dont have any more info than what I've said above. GB-PVR doesnt have the ability for you to manually specify this stuff.
