Just installed the HVR 1600 using 1.08. Anolog side is working fine connected to cable. Having problems with the ATSC side trying to download EPG data. Hopefully I am doing this correctly, not real sure how DVB EPG is supposed to behave. Here is how I set it up. In config set the ATSC side to BDA recording and chose Haup HVR 1600 ATSC. Set the EPG source to DVB EPG Broadcast. Settings for this is greyed out ? Next clicked on "Map digital channels to EPG channels" , now tuner scans and comes up with all my digital channels for my area. In that screen checked all the boxes. Now it goes back to config screen linking channel names to Tuning Reqest with a checkmark. Here is where I am confused and or having trouble. When I click Update EPG it starts scanning each channel for 60,s, I am assuming that here is where it should be getting the EPG data correct ? Ok so it goes through all the channels and finishes. HIt ok close config. Now I go into the guide and it lists all the digital OTA channels to the left but nothing appears in the guide for any of these channels. Cable channels all show up fine using Zap2it. Also tried uping the harvest time to 120 seconds no help. Is this supposed to work in this release or is it broken and/or I am I missing something? The channels are working because I can see them fine with Wintv.
Next since this didnt work looked in forums and found a way to do this with Zap2it by adding the Broadcast Lineup and only selecting the Digital channels. Had to remap the the Tuning request side to the new channel names downloaded by Zap2it. This seemed to work ok except now in the guide the cable channel and the digital channel are right next to each other (above and below) with the same name? so I dont know which is which. Not sure if the guide is just chopping off the last part of the name or what. Zap2it lists the channels with the Call sign first then number. I would rather see it the way the config pulled the channel name.; Numbers first then call sign. This leads to another question. Can the guide be edited manually and where is this stored? It looks like its in the db3 file so I am guessing not. Thanks for any help, sorry for the long post but I still a newbie to a lot of this
