Running v1.0.16, and trying to get PVRX2 to change channels. Using this Hauppauge MCE remote which comes with an I/R receiver beanbag and blaster.

I am currently using HIPSend.exe to drive the blaster and change channels on my satellite receiver. Since I can't figure out how to get HIP to drive PVRX2 I enabled native "MCE Remote" support for input. But I would like to know if GB-PVR also has native support for the Hauppauge MCE blaster.

I tried configuring GB-PVR to use the "MCE2005 blaster plugin" channel changer but can't figure out how to configure it to drive my DishNetwork receiver. Does anybody know if this plugin will work with the Hauppauge MCE blaster and if so, how do you configure it? It isn't obvious to me.

To be honest, the built in "MCE2005 blaster plugin" is pretty crap. I'd only just started working on it when the free HIP software arrived, and everyone started using that so I never bothered finishing it. They had much more time they could focus on this one aspect than I did.

OK, that's fair enough. I was hoping to pitch HIP (not because it is bad, just because I'm not really using any of the extra features, and the input side is simpler with GB-PVR's native MCE Remote support), and thought the embedded blaster would do the trick.

It appears that my only blasting options are Hauppauge IR, or HIP. Both require that I have some additional software running, and since I now have HIP working...

My current setup, with native MCE Remote on the input side, and HIP trying to take care of both input and blaster output, is a little Frankenstein-ish. (PVRX2.exe works great since I can't get HIP to recognize it, while GBPVR.exe gets double presses since both HIP and native support process remote control buttons.) I'll have to figure out a way to alter HIP to lay off the remote input.

I still wish someone who got HIP to work with PVRX2.exe would post details. Are we all using native MCE Remote?

Thanks!
