Using Comcast EPG Data for GB-PVR

I have no idea if this would be a do-able solution, or even if it's legal, so I thought I would ask here. I searched and came up with many answers, but none that were specific to this question, so here goes:

My Comcast cable tv set top box displays all the basic EPG data that I would need for GB-PVR. I'm pretty sure that the set top box has a serial port so I could connect it to my HTPC. Is there some way to import the EPG data from the STB to my HTPC through the serial port?

not that anyone has figured out (at least as far as I know).

you can basically only use the serial port to change channels (if its even enabled)

and I am pretty sure that it isnt legal anyways.
