Hi all

Has anybody noticed their Radio Times UK EPG data stopping on March 2nd 2010?

Spotted it last night and did a manual update using XMLTV GUI (normally use the console version via UpdateEPG.bat). Seemed to work OK with no errors but only grabbed data up to 02/03/2010.

The scheduled update has run again today but it still stops on the 2nd.

Any ideas? XMLTV has always been bulletproof so I've never had cause to troubleshoot it.

I normally only grab 7 days to prevent problems with them shifting show times, but I've just pulled over the lot and it seems to be running to 9th March.

Any particular channel you noticed it on?

Thanks for the info Martin. It's all channels that are affected, the data just stops at midnight.

I didn't realise you could limit the number of days in XML TV, like I said though, it's always just worked so I've never really investigated the options.

If it was a hiccup from the Beeb, when retrying manually, make sure you delete the cache files or it won't download them until (I think) the next day, it just runs from the cache.

Any errors shown in the logs?

(restricting nr of days to download is /d7 on the command line for 7 days)

There's nothing in the logs at all. I'll try clearing the cache and see if it behaves itself.

Thanks again.

It's OK now, whatever was wrong has gone away and I've got data until the 10th. I didn't get a chance to clear the cache last night but as you say, they get cleared over night so I guess that's what's happened.

Thanks again Martin.

I have the same problem - today 22nd March, only downloads seven days of RT to 29th March. Has anyone else noticed this? the odd thing is that until last friday (19th march) it was downloading up to 1st Aoril. Then the console version of the program started giving me ab-end warnings, whcih made me look at what is going on and then saw this seven day restriction. Updated XLMTV to latest edition, runs normally now, but still only gets seven days. Have had this sort of problems before, maybe something at Radio Times. will wait until tomorrow before succumbing to panic. However usually it seemed to do two "passes" - whatever that means - now it is doing only one

I'm getting the same - plus some channels are returning no data at all. Since yesterday.
There used to be a forum on the RD for reporting things like this, but it went some time ago.

The two passes are to get data and then process it with your optional post processors.

The last time the panic started, I think someone posted on Alan Birtles site and someone there (or himself) had a contact at the RT who managed to sort it out.

fingers crossed.

I seem to have got a full download this morning. Had to delete the cache directory on my test machine though.
Phew!
