I have one installed and it works with GBPVR. I got this off the Hauppauge web site
"System Requirements: Processor requirements: Pentium® IV processor 1.2GHz or faster (or equivalent) for TV pause with full screen playback Windows®XP Media Center Edition 2005, WindowsXP Home or WindowsXP Professional Windows Vista Home Premium or Ultimate with Microsoft's Media Center application Note: when using the WinTV-PVR-500 MCE with WindowsXP or Vista Home Basic, you need a third party TV application such as SageTV or BeyondTV Free PCI slot Sound card VGA card (PCI or AGP) with Vista certified driver or Windows XP Media Center 2005 certified driver DVD decoder certified for use with Media Center 2005. Windows Vista comes with a DVD decoder built-in. Hope this helps TobyO

That's technically true as XP won't know what to do with an MCE Remote. As I understand it, however, it is possible to use an MCE Remote with GB-PVR (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Cheers, Brian

Actually, I have found that XP does know what to do with the remote, and I always have to install the alt driver so I can get it to stop working with XP. (I only want it to work with GB-PVR...) Yes this works completely. Pay no attention to the MCE only warning!

I only use my keyboard and mouse on the occasions I use GB-PVR directly. Other than that, remote + MVP downstairs in my living room. Cheers, Brian |
