I've seen from reading the forums that the FF/RWD functionality is a known problem. Sub, you have said that FF/RW don't work well due to the way GB-PVR uses the DirectShow filters (or something like that).
Would it be possible to implement FF/RWD as continuous skipping instead? This is how most DVD players / commercial DVRs seem to work. The skip buttons still do a one-time skip, like GB-PVR does. But tapping the FF button once will make the video continuously "skip" forward at 2x the frame rate. Tapping FF again will put it at 4x, then 8x, then 16x, and then back to 1x. Rewind would work similarly, except in reverse.
Is this possible to implement within the GB-PVR framework? I would think it is possible since one-time skipping works great in both directions.
