I have Windows media center 2004 and wantted to know if there is a way to get the EPG to get the tv schedule from it. I have had no luck with Schedules Direct. I have also tried the MceEpg2XmlTv thinking it might work it didn't work.

Media Center 2002 keeps the TV guide info somewhere I don't know how to get it to use it in GBPVR.

What problem do you get? Hit the 'Update EPG' button in the config app then zip and attach the config.exe.log file and I'll take a look.

There are 2 items with SD that you might want to check first.

1) Where it asks for e-mail address, it wants your UserID

2) There is a patched DLL (from GBpvr) that you may need to load. Sorry, not at home to look up the file, maybe someone else can point you to it, or you can search for it.

Those were my issues with getting it up and running.

Zen.

There are two things here. If you wish to make SD work, sub et al will be able to help...

Referring to the MCE 2004, the only method that we currently have is mce2xmltv, which gets tv guide data from the mce guide database.

Problem is, there really isn't a MCE 2004. MS makes us all look funny when we see the version in system properties, but it's not right...

Anyway, if you do all your windows updates, especially 2005 rollup... then the mce2xml gui and tools should work.

I was wrong when i said MCE 2004 it is actually MCE 2002 service pack 2 acoording to my system properities. I can not Roll up to MCE 2005 Windows without buying it for 100+ dollors. besides if i buy a new opperationg system it probablly be vista. (Or just install Ubuntu and be done with Microsoft. Have Ubuntu install on an old computer)

Still working on SD issuses have tried user name not email address.
thought I got all the updates needed for SD to work. Going to go back and retry when I have time.

Thanks for all the help everyone.

I'll post again when it works.
Or I get stuck.

If I recall, whurlston released a special version of the mceEpg2xmltv.exe that will work for mce 2002

I can't find it at the moment. But it's somewhere in this thread...

Some people have been lucky with MceEpg2XmlTv and MCE 2002 and some haven't. I don't have MCE 2002 so there's no way for me to debug it. You're best option is Schedules Direct.
