I see a couple of options out there for adjusting ComSkip settings for recordings. I want to be able to fine tune the recordings before burning to DVD.

What do you find works the best, and works in 1.0.16?
Currently Running: 1.4.7

When I was reading up on comskip, it sounded as if the commercial skipping from comskip only worked when playing the recording through the gbpvr and not when played from a burned DVD or video library or something else. This is because the file is still the whole file but there is a txt file that gbpvr reads and skips the commercials (assuming you have activated by pressing "play" during a commercial) or not skip (assuming you press "999" at any time).

Comclean is a program designed to create a separate file with the commercials out (which would presumably be useful for burning) but when I used it, I found that my recordings became jerky generally (it may or may not have been the programs fault but it stopped when I removed it). Sub suggested that it can remove "timestamp" markers which can cause problems.

Comskip does create a file of timing for the commercials... then you can use other apps to burn the DVD that will use that file to skip the commercials.

There are a couple of utilities to adjust the timing for the commercials, in case ComSkip is off.

There are several alternatives, have a look at
