Hi Darren,

All you need is a dongle.bin and tftpd32.exe (it does not need to be installed). When you run tftpd32.exe for the first time you need to change some settings. I'm no expert on this and I don't know what the defaults are (I may have changed things that didn't need to be changed just to get it working the first time...), but this is what works for me:

- click 'Settings' to open the Settings dialog
- set the directory where your dongle.bin resides as the 'Base Directory'
- in 'Global Settings' only enable 'TFTP Server' and 'DHCP Server'
- in TFTP Security select 'Standard'
- I don't think I've changed this, but in TFTP configuration, set 'Timeout' to 3, 'Max Retransmit' to 6 and 'Tftp port' to 69
- In 'Advanced TFTP Options' select only 'PXE Compatibility' and if you want 'Show Progress bar' and 'Hide Window at startup'

Restart Tftpd32.exe and select the 'DHCP server ' tab.

- select an 'IP pool starting address' and 'Size of pool' that do not conflict with any DHCP servers you already have running (e.g. in an internet gateway); the pool size should equal the number of MVPs you have connected
- set 'Boot File' to dongle.bin
- set 'WINS/DNS Server' and 'Default router' to '0.0.0.0'
- set 'Mask' to your subnet mask (probably 255.255.255.0, but you can run ipconfig to make sure)
- leave 'Domain Name' empty and 'Additional Option' set to 0
- don't forget to push the 'Save' button

Now it should work...

If questions remain, please let me know.

Regards,

Jan

Excellent instructions. Works like a champ. It's amazing that this piece of software and the dongle.bin just replaces the Happauge software. I'm going to do some more testing but it just works.
