Hi all,

Does anybody know if there is a plugin or utility that is able to automatically remove a show after a certain time?

I find myself recording shows and after a month of not having time to watch it I just delete it. Since I'm really low on hd-space (and not likely to upgrade my 600GB-raid0 array anytime soon), I'd like to find out if there some kind of cleaner-upper for GB-PVR available?

TIA.

Video Archive has that functionality. I used to have a rule setup for the Wifey's soaps and Oprah shows. If she didn't watch them, off they go! Smile

Well, not so brave. I was able to establish an agreement with the wife early in my HTPC days. Back then, I only had a single 160GB hard drive so recording space was limited. I was able to work out a 1 week deletion rule with her because of the limitation. In hindsight, I should have used that situation as leverage to spend more money on the hobby. Oh well. I can pretty much do whatever I want with the HTPC now so in the end, it's all good. Smile

Well, actually, my initial qustion was because of wifey's soaps too... Big Grin

I'll look into Video Archive. I think I've had a look at it before but there was some incompatibility with v0.9x or something to that effect. In any case, I'll look into it again.

Thx.

When scheduling a recurring show, one of the options is how many to keep. Thus, if you want to keep a maximum of one month of a particular show, you could like the "keep recordings" to 20 and when the 21st show is recorded, the oldest show will be deleted (as I recall).

Is this the case with manual recordings? I have a manual recording that record 30 minutes every day. It would be nice to have a "number of shows to keep"-option in manual recordings.

I think the answer is probably no. The 'Keep' option doesn't show up when scheduling reoccurring manual recordings. I'd guess it's a lot harder to identify manual recordings from the same series than it is to identify reoccurring recordings by programme title.

Cheers,
Brian
