I have a Hauppauge 1600 which has an analog and digital tuner so I can receive OTA analog and digital signals. I want to list these channels separately in my EPG. I’m using MceEpg2XmlTv to get guide data.

I know Beyond TV’s EPG can separate this out as can WinTV (Analog numbers start 2 and up while digital channels start numbers 1022 and up), but GBPVR will show the same line up and numbers for both digital and analog channels.

Is there a way to change this, even if it has to be manually?

You will need to run the converter (mceepg2xmltv.exe) twice with separate configs for Digital and Analog using include/exclude files.

ok... ah... I'm kinda new dealing with all of this. Any more details you can provide would be great.

When I run the program twice, it overwrites itself so that there is only one xml. I'm assuming I need two. One for analog one for digital, correct?

Correct. Are you using the GUI or the command line utilities?

The GUI.

Tried a couple of things like remapping the digital channels which worked except I can't change the guide info.

The fault lies with MceEpg2XmlTv. I'm only getting channels 1-68. As previously mentioned, the digital signals begin in the 1000's. Without those channels being recognized it's no go.

Remapped where? In MCE or in MceEpg2XmlTv.

What fault? You said that you wanted to split Digital and Analog channels. Are you having an issue with channels not showing up in GBPVR? That is another issue and most likely due to duplicate channels.

I'm not sure how MceEpg2XmlTv works, but for other programs (including the digital tuner in my tv) digital stations start at 1000.

I am able to get the digital stations with GBPVR, but they are the same call sign and channel number as my analog stations.

If I cannot get MceEpg2XmlTv to go up to 1000, I want to know if there is a way to split out the analog channels (2-28) from the digital channels (2-28).

The remapping I did was in the config section of GBPVR.

Attached is my config.ini.

Thanks for your help.

This is a limitation of MCE not MceEpg2XmlTv. MceEpg2XmlTv will retrieve the channel list from your base lineup. MCE remaps analog guide info to digital channels. It does not actually receive digital lineup information for OTA so MceEpg2XmlTv cannot export it. (This is the reason that sub channels do not have guide data.) You will need to use a renumber file for your digital channels. You can number the channels pretty much anything you want.

I don't think the GUI supports renumbering. You will need to use the command line utilities for that. See the first post in http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=27890 as well as the files in C:\EPG\Config\Samples for how to do this.
