Picture library very Slow thumbnails

Using 1.0.16 the picture library displays thumbnails *really* slowly, 2 at a time. when you have thousands of pictures this is too annoying to be functional when paging down. I have a thumbs.db file in the folder but this makes no diference.

previous versions were much faster showing thumbs, can anything be done?

also is it possible to zoom in 1.0.16 like older versions?

The ability to use thumbs.db is not present in the PVRX2. The thumb pictures it provides were just too small and looked crap. Instead it has to load the fullsize image and draw it small. How long this takes depends on how big those files are.

There is something that provides alternative thumbnail caching in the next release.

Its not possible to zoom at the moment, but I'll add it back in for a future release.

thanks Sub, i was going crazy trying to get the thumbs.db working after seeing the option in config.xml.
