Which components from Hauppauge's software installation are needed for the MediaMVP to work with GB-PVR?

I never installed the MediaMVP software - GB-PVR seems to work fine on it's own. I did try to update the dongle.bin from a newer release of Hauppuage's software without any noticeable effect.

Is there any advantage to install Hauppauge's software before GB-PVR? Should I bring over some software compenents? Is it a good idea to use the latest dongle.bin?

You dont need to install the original Hauppauge software (unless you dont have a DHCP server on your network).

I havn't updated my dongle.bin in a long time, but you never know - they might improve some stuff that makes it worthwhile.

Just got my MVP installed and having the same issues. Works awesome standalone but i can't get the interface to show on MVP.

It has an ip address and I can ping it.  i am only running the GBPVR service however if i start the Hauppauge service, MVP works fine (but no GBPVR - I get the native MVP stuff [Image: sad.gif]  )

My WIRED router has the DHCP service and has 10 addresses in the pool. Interestingly, it wouldn't give out the IP address until i started the Hauppage service, but then it was instant. I thought perhaps the MVP service was handing it out but the IP showed up in my lease pool. Very odd. Anyway, i also have a Wireless that i do MAC filtering on (wireless only) and I added the addresses there just in case something really wierd was happening. No luck.

Anyway, I am stuck at the  CONTACTING SERVERS page. Thats all i can get.  Any ideas???

Thanks

Well.. i uninstalled everything and whacked the folder. Reinstalled and it is now working!

One problem. About 20 episodes of TV i recorded are still in the video folder but GBPVR no longer knows they are there. Is there a config file or something that must be updated so they it is aware of their existence. I've pointed to that folder just like i originally did. #### i got issues..

During the reinstall the "scheduled recording" database records will have been removed, so you'll just have to treat these files as normal videos now.
