In which case would I have multiple instances of the recording service running? I'm making XRecord more skinnable and noticed that XRecord's recording service status indicator searches and draws the status of possibly multiple instances. I've never seen more than one instance on my system.

In the task manager there is one process called GBPVRRecordingService.exe (at least I've only ever seen one instance). In the XRecord source code that draws the recording service status, there is a loop as follows where bRecordingServiceRunning is an integer initialized by counting all the GBPVRRecordingService's in the tasklist:
for( int i = 1; i <= bRecordingServiceRunning; ++i )
{
// code to draw i'th recording service status was here
}
It seems the guy who wrote this knew something about the recording service that I don't. That's why I'm asking "In which case would I have multiple instances of the recording service running?" Or if you're a programmer, can bRecordingServiceRunning > 1 ever happen?

You cant run more than one instance of the recording service at a time on a machine.

The guy who wrote that code may have known more than me but nobody knows more than sub. Wink That loop in the code is history! Thanks for the info.
