Are there details on what each video render type is for PVRX2? I have no idea what EVR and VMR9 Exclusive Fullscreen and VMR9 Custom mean, especially in terms of why I would want to choose one over another given my system specs.
NPVR 4.1.0.180302 o Kodi 17.6 o EventGhost 0.5.0.rc4 o SAF 6.3.2 o SchedulesDirect

The video renderer is responsible for drawing each frame of video onto the screen. I would try them all and use whatever look best to you on your setup.

VMR9 Custom and VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive are pretty much the same, both using Direct3D to draw each frame to the screen. VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive takes over full control of your videocard, making it slightly faster than VMR9 Custom.

EVR is primarily a Vista video renderer, but if you have .net 3.0 installed on your machine then you can also give it a go on XP.

With your specs i wouldn't recommend EVR, because there is no hardware accleration support for WinXP. I would just try both of the two VMR9 renderers and decide which looks/works better on your machine.

I disagree, evr made it possible for me to run pvrx2 on an xp mediacenter, core duo (1.8ghz) laptop with the intergated 945 graphics (no hard accel). Prior to that I was unable to use pvrx2 due to massive stuttering. Before evr I had to use gbpvr, overlay, and the intervideo muxs (which are not great).

i think its more the fact that if you have the grunt you can do it
single processor verses duo not hard to work out which one is going to be able to do video without hardware acceleration really

Might be true...though I am not sure that my laptop is multithreading...i don't think it is from looking at the task manager.
