move from my recordings to my videos folder and to keep the show info in the database so that you have all the info about the program in the my videos folder - possibly by using a button in the recordings screen so that all the moves etc are done within GBPVR ?

i thought about this as we often try to clear out our recordings folder by putting movies that we have recorded into the videos folder - and sometimes it would be nice to be able to see the info about the movie from there

cheers

If it is just to free up space once in a while I use the recordings-dump.xml file. I copy the files I want out of the way, edit recordings-dump.xml (simply replace all of the paths to the new one and import it. This way GBPVR finds the new location.

i think the video archive plugin does pretty much what you want.

Nah its more we like to keep the recordings folder clean with stuff thats going to be watched straight away - and other things like movies we put in the videos folder - we also move my daughters tv programs etc so we dont have to see them Smile

it does exactly what you want
but for some reason since pvrx2 came along it steals all your ram(not exactly sure)
gbpvr takes like up to 30 seconds to load
so i only use it when i want to move lots of files then remove it
it has some really handy features though

took a look on my client - seems a bit slow - i guess it does the moving of files and stuff - but none of my programs - current or old had any details next to them.

when it moves the files it updates your database so that when in your recordings folder the desriptions show up

but yes you are right if you go into the video folder the details still wont be there

but you can group them under your daughters name or adult action etc

we mainly only use the whats new unless i want to watch something old then i goto ready
i dont move them from there

the video archive plugin can move recordings to another drive and update the database location (optional) but as already stated, your main problem is that the video library doesn't show the program details. The old My Videos plugin did the trick here but is unfortunately no longer supported.

I think the VA plugin lets you view by genre or there is the movie wizard plugin.

I let VA move recordings more than x days old to my seperate archive drive and they then disappear from the recordings menu. Every fews days I then just drag these files into appropriate folders which we access via the video plugin:

e.g.

Kids stuff
Films
cartoons

Family viewing
History
Natural History
Science
Music

Grown Up Stuff
Films
Documentaries
Daddies special art films [keep out]
