so far so good this morning and the television was completely off from 12:30 to ~7am

today will be another test since it will be off from 8am to 7pm at least. if it works after that I can probably declare victory.

haripj: do you have comcast or do you use a dish? if the former what kind of recording input setup have you found the most useful in our area? i assume the network setups are fairly similar in philly and SJ.

I have DirecTV and I use a STB box and record on one machine, and use another machine in client mode and play off of that. I'm moving to the Lehigh Valley area soon and don't know what I'll be able to do or not do then.
