And what's the difference between overlay manager and this VMR9?

Why do I have only the "Overlay manager"?

Where can I find more info (wiki search produces no results)

Thanks

Video renderers are used for displaying each frame of video on the the screen. The different renderers use slightly different mechanisms for doing this, and each renderer has slightly different capabilities.

Overlay is the oldest renderer, provides a pretty good picture, but lacks the ability to show semi-transparent graphics over the video, and is also a little less flexible for aspect ratio control.

VMR9 is newer and these things that Overlay lacks, but has slightly higher requirements on the video card and its drivers. If you system doesnt let you do VMR9, then it most likely doesnt meet the hardware requirements for VMR9 (amount of onboard video memory etc), or the drivers dont provide support for VMR9.

Thank you.
Indeed I use a pretty old card (nvidia mx440). But since I'm quite happy with
the picture quality, as well as ratio control, I'll just settle for Overlay.
