Hi all,

Is it possible to automate the transcoding to divx/xvid AFTER comclean?

What I want is to end up with a divx that has been comcleaned without any manual intervention.

What my system is doing at the moment is recording the show, then running comclean and divx converter at the same time on the same recorded file.

So I end up with the original mpeg and a divx with ad's and a mpeg without adds.

Thanks.

Best way to do this is trough a batch file. In your case putting it in the postprocessing.bat file is probably the best option.

I can give you mine (transcodes with mencoder to xvid) if you want later today when I am back home.

Sorry I did not reply earlier as I had to leave on an urgent business trip.

The command line I use looks as follows:

start /low /wait /b mencoder %1 -edl "%~dpn1.edl" -noodml -ovc xvid -xvidencopts fixed_quant=4:vhq=4:chroma_opt:quant_type=mpeg -oac mp3lame -lameopts vbr=2:q=5 -o "%~dpn1.avi"

In the comskip ini file you have to set the edl output on. This is the format mencoder understands. Furter you have to make sure that comskip has completed before starting mencoder which you can do with the start /low /wait command (low for low priority and wait instructs the batch file to wait for it to complete before going to the next command)

You can play with the mencoder options: -noodml is there to prevent an AVI problem with files larger that 1 GB. I use a fixed quantiser to fix the quality of the transcode and not the filesize. Change the vhq= parameter to a higher number to get lower lifesize sacrificing quality as you feel appropriate. In my testing I found that going lower than 4 did not change anything in quality but increased filesize significantly.
