GBPVR gui to small on Panasonic plasma

Hi guys,

A friend of mine has also bought the PCH, but in stead of using it on a widescreen SD TV like me (boohoo), he's got a nice big plasma screen from Panasonic. The strange thing for me is that this TV has a native resolution of 1024 x 768, but it's definitely a widescreen. He's tried several settings but can't get the GBPVR gui to appear fullscreen. The PCH is set to 1024 x 768 and movies show up fine. Please take a look at this link: http://www.xs4all.nl/~degit/Panasonic.jpg

I haven't looked into flat screens too much, so I'm hoping someone can give some advice how to enter the several parameters for my friend's setup.

I can't help much, no pch yet.....but do they have the mvp settings set to wide screen? Looks 4:3 to me.

And maybe you need to set the res, to the res of the tv - 768 to get that extra at top and bottom. And maybe even 1366 for the horizontal size.....

Looking at the picture I'd check to see if your friend

- is watching through hdmi and not composite or svideo.
- is running the latest version of mvpmcx2
- has the correct MAC address
- isn't using --display 1920x1080

If all this fails I'd trying lowering the quality to 1080i using -m 1080 leaving config.xml alone.


The ratio setting in the config.xml doesn't do anything for either the MVP or the PCH as far as I know.

In normal use you won't want to use the TV's spec's for resolution you would let that be determined by the -m setting.
