LiveTV preplay delay not working

I have some audio/video sync problems so I have been fiddling a little with the preplay delay and to my findings there is NO difference in setting the delay to 0 or 4000. The time from play start to picture visible is in both instances around 2.5 - 3 seconds...

Is this a bug or am I misunderstanding this feature?

I use Cyberlink PD7 video decoder and Dscaler audio decoder, Cyberlink 1307 mux.

Are you using live preview mode? If so, then it'll do nothing. This setting only applies to timeshift mode.

Ok, that explains it. Maybe you should rename the feature to "Timeshift buffer" or something like that to minimize possible misunderstanding. As a suggestion of course...

Would it be possible to introduce a buffer to live preview as well? Maybe it would cure some of the random sync issues I have at first TV live preview after PVRX2 start? Most of the time sync is perfect, but sometimes it is off by a little, but enough to be annoying. Esc + F2 usually cures it.
Timeshift or recording playback never has these problems, only live preview...

There is no buffer at all performed in live preview mode, and I dont intend to add any. I also dont think it would have helped you. Any sync issues are more likely to be caused by the combination of audio/video decoder you using, or possibly the audio renderer, so I'd try playing around with these settings to correct it.

Ok, I believe I have tried every possibe variant there. I think my problems began when I started using multidec. Could the differing delays caused by that filter's somewhat random startup time cause any problems? Is the mpeg mux used for live tv? Could it interfere? Or is it only used when creating a recording or timeshift (as I would assume)?
