http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Config/DefineSource

follow the link above, You can temporary change the internal tunner to channel 3 or 4 with internal tuner. Then go back to config to setup the source is either "Composite, external changer" for composite or "Fixed Channel, external Changer" for coax.

Then if you have IR blaster, then choose .exe then locate HBlast under GBPVR directory. Since you are manually change channel you are not using full feature of unattending recording with different channel and time.

example for register: regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mpg2splt.ax. After register the codec, select it from Playback tab in config.

I have this same device, as well as DirecTV. I use an s-video cable from the DirecTV set top box to the s-video input of my Win TV PVR USB2, and audio cables from/to the appropriate plugs. In config, I have Capture Card Type set to "Hauppauge Win TV PVR2 USB2", and Source set to "S-Video, External Tuner".

I don't have an IR blaster, so I have it set for "No Channel Changer Required". I don't use GB-PVR for watching live shows. When I want to record, I use the DirecTV box's built-in "Autotune" capabilities to program it to change to the right channel at the right time.
