Lately I've noticed that a lot of channels are duplicated in my EPG, with "No information" in the grid.
Investigating I find that in the Config program under "Edit Recording Source", I get the expected group of channels, 2 - 99 then another group but with channel numbers in the range of 100 - 400 in the "Source Channel" column. Sometimes the chanel numbers and names are correct in this second group, sometimes a complete mismatch.

I'm wondering where this group of channels comes from, and if it's needed for anything. Maybe it's part of the Digital conversion process? (This is an analog tuner connected to cable).

This could be caused by your broadcaster changing channel names. GB-PVR isnt aware that its a name change, so just adds the new channel to the end of the list, and the existing channel stays there with no listings. If you delete the old channel and new channel, then do an 'update epg' it'll correct itself.

I would expect that to be the case for too many channels though. If you have lots of channels in the 100-400 range, you probably need to log into your schedules direct account to check what channels are in your lineup.

Perhaps if I understood the process better I would be able to fix this.
First, I have been using the Zap2it screen scraper linked from the forum, and I have the latest version of it.

I have tried the following in my final desperation:
- Run the screen scraper to create the xml file.
- Delete the capture sources altogether in Configure.
- Exit Configure with "OK".
- Run Configure again.
- Create a new source, point to the xml file and update EPG.
- Exit Configure with "OK".
- Run PvrX2.
- Update EPG.

The guide is still messed up.

The I tried the whole process over again using the MSN screen scraper linked from the forum.

The mess is even worse - now I have a bunch of channels designated by the letter "I" followed by a 7-digit number, mapping to channels in the 300 range, but with valid programme information in the grid!

So, I went back to the Zap2it scraper and repeated the process, Now I have the best of both worlds - the original mess PLUS the odd channel numbers.

I would have thought that deleting the capture source and exiting Configure would wipe out all record of the configuration.

Is there a file I should delete manually also?

Does "Update EPG" in Configure do the same thing as "Update EPG" in PvrX2?

Also, the "Remove unreferenced channels" button in the "Channels" tab puzzles me. At one point I tried un-checking all the unwanted channels in both the Capture Source screen and the Channels screen, then clicking the "Remove unreferenced channels" button. The unwanted channels were re-checked in the Channels tab!

I noticed that the xml files produced by the two screen scrapers are quite different. Are there particular field names that PvrX2 is looking for? Can that be controlled by the user in any way? Or is that just a dumb idea? Smile

Thanks!

Delete your gbpvr.db3 file, then start the config app and recreate your capture source. This way you can be sure you're starting from an empty database, with no old channel info hanging around.
