Hello everyone,

I've got GB-PVR set up and it seems to record just fine, but I was wondering if it was possible to set a maximum recording time so that if, say, I recorded a 2-hour movie, the program would split it into thirty-minute segments as it went?

On a possibly related note, it seems like I can't acess the Setting option from the program's menu. It loads for half a second and then immediately returns to the main menu.

Thank you for your time.

No there nothing built in that would do this. It only does recordings in a single chunk.

This is a known bug in this release. If you create an empty 'skin' directory in the gbpvr directory it'll start working.

Wow, thanks for the quick assistance. I do have another related question, then. I'm using SchedulesDirect, and from what I understand from their website, they use a form of XML in how they send their schedules. They mention XMLTV, which is something that can apparently convert the raw data sent from SD to XML. Assuming I edited this XML to show, say, a two hour movie as four 30 minute segments, do you suppose it'd be possible to have GBPVR use the newly modified XML as opposed to the source? Have you ever heard of someone doing that before, or is PVR tied directly to the SchedulesDirect input?

Sorry if I'm asking an overly complex question, I'm just curious. Once again, thanks for the prompt and helpful replies.

You could do this using the xmltv source in your capture source (not the Schedules Direct source), and a standalone xmltv grabber + whatever step you wanted to do for editing the file. I dont think its worth doing though - scheduling recordings will get really messy for you, with your two hour movie appearing as four separate shows in the TV Guide.
