When I stumbled upon GBPVR, I was hoping to finally solve all the problems with this tv tuner. The PVR software provided lacks the ability to efficiently find the cable channels. I let it do an Auto scan. There is an "Exact Scan" but no instructions how to use it. Also, I'm using VISTA Basic. Is gbpvr compatilible? If not, can anyone recommend a solution? Can I pick another USB tuner in the list and if so which one? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, this device isnt compatible with GB-PVR. It lacks the required hardware MPEG2 encoder.

It looks like they support every tuner under the sun, except Sabrent, and the setup and config is incredibly complicated, and I wasn't able to find in the options where I could disable the launching of this app on Windows boot, so I had to uninstall it.

Nothing to do with the mafacturer, all of the analog tuners which work with gbpvr produce an mpeg file from their onboard encoder chip, rather than the cheap TV tuner boxes / cards which just produce uncompressed video to be encoded / displayed by the PC.

in saying that - you may be able to get it working with this plugin / utility,

Not sure how you would tune etc. never really used it for that.
