Other than these capture sources, what others do you have in your machine?

What EPG source were used for each of these capture sources? Were any channels manually created?

I suspect the problem is somehow related to how you've setup the EPG. The recording you scheduled was on a channel you seen have three unrelated copies off. The app has no way of knowing that 'TV1' 'TV ONE' and 'One' are the same channels, so if you're recording on 'TV2' (which is on one capture source) then try to schedule a recording on TV1 which is only available on that same tuner, then its not going to realise it could have used the seemingly unrelated 'TV ONE' and 'One'.

It sounds like you should be using a single xmltv source across all your capture sources. The app will see the same names in each capture source, and treat them as an additional source for that channel.

If you go to change it, its best to delete and recreate you capture sources rather than trying to just change the EPG Source.

Thanks for the quick reply sub

1. two physical capture sources (PVR250) and the Nova 500
2. The PVR250 source is from xmltv (reven). The epg for the Nova 500 is from the extract from the DVB-S stream that is captured and loaded someplace each day. Hence the different channel names. For this I only use the freeview source since of course the Nova 500 can only receive those channels

I think there is a source for all programs from the satellite but it has way too many channels most of which I can't receive so I don't use it.

But getting back to my problem as you can I initiated a recording on channel One [not TV1] (which is only available on the Nova 500) Channel 32

Then I tried to record on Channel 39 for which there is only one source. The error still occurred. Does that jive with your theory?

Will look at seeing if I can go to one epg source and see what happens

Another bit of data. I am able to record Channel TV2 [on the PVR250] and also Channel 39 (SportsExtra) at the same time so gbpvr can see that those channels are on different capture devices but if I try to record Channel TV 2 [Channel 39] at the same time as Channel 39, it fails

I'm positive that is what is causing your problem. The attemp at scheduling in your posted logs showed it clearly.

I'm sure if you used one xmltv file file for all the capture sources, or multiple xmltv file with identical channel names then this problem will go away. If you're using one xmltv file, you can always disable channels that arent available on some capture sources.

I'm sure you're right :-) Might have to wait a bit to try that since deleting say the PVR250 source deletes a ton of scheduled programming and also the definitions for my USB-UIRT which took me a long time to get working.

But I am puzzled why given that the Nova T has the same epg for both instances, and I try to record two channels that only exist on the Nova T (One and SportsExtra) it still fails

To experiment, just temporarily rename your gbpvr.db3 file, then start config app (which will create a new gbpvr.db3), then just setup your two DVB-T capture sources, both using the same xmltv file, then check if you can record 2 channels at the same time. I'm sure you'll be able to.

Thanks for the ongoing help but alas, this didn't work either. Renamed gbpvr.db3. Ran config and had to add capture sources. Added as per previous discussion and used the same epg source for both. Saved it etc. Started a recording on one channel (so it was scheduled but because of the time, it started) and then another recording on a different channel and got the conflict error. See logs

The first thing it doesnt when you attempt to schedule a recording is work its way though all the capture sources checking which capture sources have the requested channel. For each capture source that has that channel it'll add a 'Possible capture device:...." message to the log. In your case it definitely only thinks the channel is available on one of your capture sources, since you're only getting this message for one capture source.

You might need to zip and attach your new gbpvr.db3 file so I can get to the bottom of it.

Ouch! I deleted it and went back to my original. Guess I am going to have repeat that whole exercise again. Try tomorrow. Thanks again for looking at this. At least I have a workaround in that I can record one channel via the epg and do the other as a manual record.
