Hi all,

My hard drive recently crashed and my GBPVR installation (along with everything else) was wiped out. I am reinstalling everything from scratch, and am now having trouble with GBPVR. The settings are pretty much all default - Tuning Assistant works fine, shows all my stations, I've got XML TV listings working... but LiveTV does not work - just a blank black screen.

Is there something obvious I am missing? Some setting in config?

Thanks!

Do you have a video decoder decoder selected (instead of 'system default')?

sub,

Thanks for the reply in record time. It was system default. I just changed it to MPEG Video Decoder (the only choice) and it still doesn't work.

Current settings:
PVRX2 Video Renderer - - VMR9 Custom
GBPVR Video Renderer - VMR9
MPEG2 Video Decoder - MPEG Video
MPEG2 Audio Decoder - MPEG Audio
Audio Renderer - SoundMAX Digital AUdio (my built in audio)

Advanced Codecs: all set to System Default

Anything else to check?

I'd set the audio renderer back to 'system default', and install and select this audio/video decoder:

Well, I figured I might have a codec problem, so before seeing your message, I installed the K-Lite codec pack and it seems to be working now with the settings I listed above.

Would there be some advantage to switching to the codecs you list above?

If its working and the results look good to your eyes, then I wouldnt bother with those other decoders.
