Hi all,

I have just downloaded and installed GBPVR and think it is great! I have been fumbling around with the application and specially NetRadio.

Now I notice that in the c:\temp directory there are mp3 files prefixed with "gbnetradio". The 5 mp3 file are recordings of some of the things I had been listening to.

Can someone please tell me how I recorded these stations with GBPVR?

Cheers

It creates these buffer files in the background each time you listen to net radio. These files are cycled through and overwritten eventually. There is no way to tell it to record.

Thanks sub,

I was going mad trying to find out what I did!

WINAMP has a plugin called STREAMRIPPER which rips the individual songs from a NetRadio station and saves them as individual mp3 files. Anything like this planned for GBPVR?

BTW I had an initial problem using NetRadio. I did not have a C:\temp directory which I found was essential for NetRadio buffering (else it just sits there toggling between "Trying somesite.com" and "Buffering data..."). Found the solution in another thread. My point is GBPVR should use the directory that the users %TEMP% or %TMP% variable is set to rather than hardcoding it to C:\temp.

Cheers and thanks for the reply.

No, short term plans to add anything like that. Maybe in some future release though.

Its not hardcoded. It uses whatever live tv buffer directory you have specified in the config app.

A couple of comments on this great app.

The "Live TV Buffer Directory" label could be changed to just "Buffer Directory" with a short comment underneath to note that it's the buffer directory for Live Tv and NetRadio.

What is the default value for "Live TV Buffer Directory" at installation?

I don't remember if (a) "Live TV Buffer Directory" was pointing somewhere that I thought was inappropriate and I changed it to c:\temp which did not exist or (b) "Live TV Buffer Directory" started off blank and I made it c:\temp which didn't exist or © it started off as c:\temp which did not exist.

Maybe a check to see if the path the user enters for "Live TV Buffer Directory" exists and offer to create it if it doesn't.

Just some thoughts.

Cheers.

I think the gbnetradio files go into the recordings directory.
