Both my plasma TV and laptop are 16:9.

The laptop image which I have uploaded does not show the full laptop screen!.

The GBPVR image (not the cover art) re sizes itself in the laptop to a kind of square (the laptop screen has gaps at the sides - Both left and right) - I hope you pick what I am trying to explain :-)

However, the cover art in the square GBPVR background is a good rectangle

GB-PVR is working on the assumption that its user interface is going to fill the screen.

If your TV or video card is taking a 16:9 GB-PVR UI and squeezing it down to some 4:3 area in the middle of your screen then the aspect ratio will be incorrect for lots of things. You'd have to find a way to output the Windows desktop to your entire tv, not just a small area in the middle of the screen.

Actually while the wife was doing whatever it is wives do when they are getting ready to go to work I was sitting here waiting & the old brain got to thinking & for some reason I had it in my mind the problem was with the Picture Library & not the Video Library & I remembered this thread of mine from a while back
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=35057 & while the new version fixed the problem for Picture Library there is still the same a problem with Videos & Music using the filmstrip view.

My laptop is set to 800 x 600 and the display is automatically scaled to my plasma TV (I have absolutely no control over the scaling). I guess there is absolutely no way I can control the cover art on my plasma TV (:-
