Audio stops recording mid-show

I've had this issue for about a 2 months now, and its driving me crazy.
PVR250 (w/ FM recording) on a 32bit Vista Business machine, recording with standard analog cable.

I'll be recording a show on channel 10, 2 minutes in the audio will drop out (though the video plays back fine). Playing back with MPEG w/ Media Player Classic shows the exact same audio dropout. All recordings following this, regardless of the channel, are also lacking audio - until I reboot.

I've stripped all the codecs off my machine, except for Xvid, Divx & the mpeg-decoder exe.

I've attached the logs directory, and zipped config file. I've turned the debug level up since the issue happened.

The oddest thing is that the recordings during the remainder of the week work fine, but the last time this issue happened, it was during the recording of the exact same show (and also dropped off around 2 minutes into into the pre-padding of the show).

After a reboot are those same recordings still missing audio after that point? Alternatively, might be worth trying a non-directshow player like VLC.

If its not a playback problem, then its most likely a driver problem, which is much worse - since no GB-PVR setting is likely to help.

After a reboot, the audio is still missing. Playing the files with VLC still shows audio dropoff at the exact same point.
EventViewer shows no logs at the time that the audio drops out.

I've uninstalled/reinstalled the TV-card's drivers through Control Panel - is there a more aggressive manner for replacing drivers? I never had any issues with this card doing this when it was in my old Windows XP box.

Sorry, I dont really know what to suggest for you. Maybe head over to the Hauppauge website and make sure you have the latest version of the drivers.

Maybe their Vista drivers are flakey for the PVR250.

Wow, good call. I bought a new card (the Hauppauge 1800) and replaced it, and now its all smooth sailing. Boo for bad hardware. Hurray for sub! Thanks for the help!
