No audio from some avi files

I have some avi files that I have downloaded that play fine on VLC media player and mplayer, but not WMP/GBPVR. I assume my PC has the codecs installed or VLC/Mplayer would not be able to give audio. Is there a way to configure things so GBPVR will use the proper decoder for these files? One of the problemed avi files properties in VLC indicates it is using the mpga codec.

It means that you're missing some audio decoders on your machine. VLC has its own embedded decoders, so isnt a sign that you have the appropriate decoders. It's decoders arent usable by other apps.

Some apps like gspot might tell you what exactly you're missing to play those files.
