I have a Hauppauge PVR-150 card and am thinking about buying a ATI TV wonder card from someone online for a cheap price. Will there be any problems with using 2 different brands of capture cards with gbpvr?

My personal experiences with ATI and other tuners is that ATI drivers seem to try to take over. I have an 650 Theater Pro in a test system and it wacked Vista MC. Of course, it could just be a problem with the new TVPack 2008 that's installed on it but the analog side of it is working fine with Vista's default drivers and an HVR-1600.
On my main system with a pvr500 I added a new HVR2250 and am still trying to figure out what the heck happened. First, adding the 2250 cleared the 500 from Device Manager. Then, it messed up my 9 in one USB card reader and still won't install telling me "'"Drivers have NOT been updated. INF file open failed". Still working with Hauppauge on that one but I will likely need to Format C: to get things right.
I love Hauppauge products but their drivers suck and that's where ATI rules.
Yes I know, I really haven't answered your question have I? Big Grin

I think I am going to buy the ATI card and test it out. If it doesn't work with PVR-150, I have another machine I can put it in and just have 2 separte PVR machines. I going to create a image first just incase the ATI driver screw everything up.

as far as I'm aware the tv wonder pro card will not work with gbpvr. It does not have the required hardware MPEG2 encoder. Some of the other ATI cards will work tho. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Thanks Matt. I looked at the ATI card and saw that the one I was going to buy was a real old ATI. I decided not to get it. A couple of shows I watch (Heroes and Terminator)come on at the same time so I am only able to record one of them. I was thinking about ordering me another card from newegg. However since brianp101 is working on a hulu plugin I am going to hold off on this for awhile.
